Answers To Common Dental Implant Questions
Am I a candidate for dental implants?
If you want a tooth replacement option that not only restores the appearance of your smile and makes eating and speaking easier, but also protects your overall health, then dental implants may be the best choice for you. To find out if you qualify, schedule a consultation with Dr. Bedich. He’ll examine your teeth, gums, and jawbones to determine if dental implants are the optimal treatment for you or if you need any supplemental procedures to prepare for your procedure. He uses 3-D x-rays to determine if there is enough bone to support dental implants and, if it’s found to be lacking, a bone grafting procedure may be recommended before your implants are placed.
How do I find a qualified dentist?
When you’re looking for a dentist to place your dental implants, it’s important to find one that has the proper training, including recent continuing education courses. It’s also important to make sure they perform a thorough examination before your dental implant procedure to make sure you qualify for the treatment. You should also find out how many implants they install each year and how long they’ve been offering this treatment to make sure they have the proper experience so you receive the best possible result.
You can visit the American Academy of Implant Dentistry website to search for a qualified dentist in your area. All dentists listed on their website are AAID-credentialed dental implant experts and have the skills, experience, and knowledge to give you the restored smile you deserve.
Do you offer financing for dental implants?
Do you offer same-day implants?
Yes, we use the GuidedSmile™ protocol that, due to the virtual planning process, allows us to place your dental implants and replacement teeth in a one-day procedure.
We start by taking images, impressions, and scans of your smile in order to create a simulation of what your new teeth will look like. Then, Dr. Bedich and his team will use this information to create your treatment plan. On the day of your procedure, Dr. Bedich will place your implants and attach your tooth restoration during the same visit so you can leave with a fully restored smile.

Our entire staff is highly knowledgeable and will help answer any questions you may have and guide you through the entire process, from scheduling your consultation to financing your procedure. And you can rest assured knowing that sedation dentistry is always available to help make your procedures more comfortable.
How painful is it to get dental implants?
We’re dedicated to making sure you remain comfortable throughout your dental implant treatment. Dr. Bedich is very gentle in his treatment approach and he also provides several types of sedation dentistry to help ensure you remain comfortable and relaxed during your procedures. You can choose from light sedation with nitrous oxide to a deeper sedation with oral or IV conscious sedation. We also have an anesthesiologist on call to provide deep sedation, allowing you to be fully unconscious throughout your procedure.
How long does the dental implant process take?
Dental implant treatment time will vary from patient to patient, depending on the type of procedure performed and whether any supplemental procedures are necessary. In general, the dental implant process is completed through a series of appointments that take place over a few months.
Patients who qualify for same day or immediate-load dental implants can have their tooth restorations placed the same day as their implant placement procedure, while other patients may benefit from an additional healing period before the final restorations are placed. Some patients may also benefit from undergoing a supplemental procedure–such as gum disease treatment or bone grafting–before the implants are placed, which will add time to the overall treatment.
The best way to find out how long your dental implant process will take is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Bedich. He’ll customize your treatment to fit your needs with the goal of a successful dental implant.
